Roots Vibrasonic is the one which many fit on Enfield making huge sound on road. This sounds very high and scary ! It is good if you want to be a bully on the road. But if you want to be the DON KING and socially unacceptable try the ROOTS MEGASONIC !

The roots megasonic makes such a huge sound that there is no reason to use this horn - it is a cruel piece of equipment purely meant to scare the shit out of someone who is blocking you on the road.

If you fit these horns on your bike.. please dont honk too much !! Also fit a relay.. a relay is used to isolate your control from actual circuit. For example in case of a normal headlight, you flick a switch. Without the relay the entire current would be through one circuit. Normal circuit may be rated for about 7amps. So when you got for a higher wattage you need 10amps. So a relay will just isolate your switch, ie your switch will still have smaller current, with the headlight circuit getting the higher current.

Last but not the lease is price estimate.. estimated street cost for roots vibrasonic is 750 rupees for High-Low pair.. and for Roots Megasonic is about 1250 rupees for high low pair.

Royal Enfield is surveying bullet 5s riders for their opinion on the Royal Enfield bullet classic 350 cc for India ! We strongly feel this is NOT COOL. Why not bring the original 500cc bullet classic to India with EFI ? Do we Indians deserve less than the Europeans and Americans from our own Indian companies ? This is so SAD but TRUE. The bullet classic 350 cc will have a twinspark engine. It comes in 2 variants - single seat / double seats. The best new feature about the Royal Enfield Classic 350 cc is its tyres - fat MRF Nylogrips (smaller diameter) which also makes the bike a bit shorter.. but the rear tyre is fat and suits the bike very much. Overall, the 1 seater classic 350 rides very smooth, feels good and looks great. (but not as great as its international version). It will be introduced for 88,000 in Chennai and about 1,02,000 in Pune. So if you are planning to buy a 5s, please wait !!! classic is on its way :-)

Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark (TBTS) - What is Twinspark ?

Twin Spark (TS) technology was used first time in Alfa Romeo car in 1914. In the early 1960s it was used in their race cars to enable it to achieve a higher power output from its engines. And in the early and middle 1980s, Alfa Romeo incorporated this technology into their road cars to enhance their performance and to comply with stricter emission controls.

The two sparks on the Twin Spark engines fire at the same time per cylinder and this makes the fuel mixture burn faster than single plug ignition because it is fired from 2 different places simultaneously. So less ignition advance could be used and also leaner mixtures could be burned.

SOME CRAZY COMPARISONs.

Note: it is MAD to compare apples with oranges but both are fruits so we shall compare them. Please note that we have the experience of riding all the bikes we compare here, we hope you gain from our thoughts.

1) Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark vs Yamaha R15

Points to remember while comparing TBTS vs R15:

  • Both are good, cost almost the same, TBTS is a cruiser R15 is a racer !
  • R15 is high rev engine, TBTS has low rev. (for same power).
  • R15 has plastic, TBTS has chrome + solid metal.
  • which means… R15 is light, TBTS is heavy (but looks great).
  • R15 gears (no false neutral), TBTS has good gears (some false neutrals but no problem really :-))
  • R15 body is breakable - punch the faring and see it come off ! ( The R15 starts to look old soon )
  • In Indian condition, R15 full faring is good house for dirt and dust.
  • RE Chrome shines like new even after many years.

If you have not got the point yet, please note that we do love the Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark TBTS more than the yamaha R15 ;-) the Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark is good value for money and will be a good companion for a long long time. On the other hand, sports bike like kawasaki Ninja will soon intimidate the R15 in India but there is no alternative to a Royal Enfield and last but not the least, it is made in INDIA.

2) Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark vs Yamaha FZ16

Points to remember while comparing TBTS vs FZ16:

  • FZ16 is a cheaper bike, good value for money - it is a great selling point.
  • FZ16 is better to handle in traffic than TBTS (better commuter bike).
  • Both look good, but TBTS looks special with all the chrome.
  • FZ16 has awesome tyres - much better than TBTS.
  • FZ16 is low on maintenance.

etc..etc..etc.. point is that if you want a simple commuter bike - FZ16 is the right choice - but if you want to have some fun, it takes more than 150cc to get that trippin feeling :-)

The Yamaha FZ-16 is surely one of the best looking naked bike in its class with its macho and muscular looks. Yamaha R15 is all set to roll on roads in India (Mahape - Surat - Bangalore - Bhopal - New Delhi - Chennai - Hyderabad - Mumbai - Pune - all over) and Nepal.

The aim of introducing the Yamaha R15 bike in India is to enrich Indian biker’s riding experience, however it’s not meant for only the riding enthusiasts as was explained by Tsutomu Mabuchi, Managing Director, Yamaha India.

We all shall see & hear a lot of the praise bubble as we always do when something ‘imported looking’ comes to India - however, here are a few cool and not so cool questions we ask ourselves about the yahama R15.

Yamaha R15 looks cool and powerful (compared only to other Indian bikes) - but is it - 150 cc only - 17 bhp ?

Does the Yamaha R15 need to pack much back ? are the rear tires too thin ? rear too ordinary ?

Are the Yamaha R15 features comparable to international (more expensive) bikes or even the international more affordable bikes ? ?

Do we need another affordable sports bike or do we need a real sports bike ?

Is the style / looks comparable to international bikes in the same class ?

Yamaha R15 = too much plastic ?

Besides all these details however, we strongly feel that the Yamaha R15 certainly has a unique appeal - it is one of the best bikes ever introduced in India. Way to go Yamaha - rock on…
